Sunil Dutt was one of the most successful actor, director and producer in Indian cinemas. He was also a cabinet minister for youth affairs and Sports, He was cabinet minister for 2004 to 2005. He was born in Burj in Pakistan, His family had left Pakistan because of partition. He had struggled struggled in Hindi cinema’s with Rajendra Kumar. He got his first break in 1955 for Railway Platform. He acted in Mother India(1957) in which he was roled as the son of Nargis, During a shot in the film, a fire accident had happened on the sets, in which Sunil Dutt had saved Nargis from fire. After that incident Nargis and Sunil Dutt were married at 11th March 1958.
His success started after Mother India(1957), some of his superhits after it were Sadhna (1958), Sujata (1959), Mujhe Jeene Do (1963, Khandaan (1965)and Padosan (1967), B.R. Chopra was very lucky for him, some of his super hits with him are Gumraah (1963), Waqt (1965) and Hamraaz (1967). He had directed a movie named Yaadien(1964) in which he was the only actor in the whole movie.
He also produced films like Man ka meet(1968), In which he had introduced his brother Som Dutt who was unsuccessful actor, Man Ka meet was a flop film. In 1971 he had directed and produced a big budget film named Reshma aur Shera(1971), Which was a big flop.
He got his success back from Pran Jaye par vachan na jaye(1974), Later he got some hits like Nagin(1976), Jaani Dushman(1979), Shaan(1980).
In 1982 his son Sanjay Dutt was launched, the movie was Rocky(1981), before its release, Nargis died at 1981 because of pancreatic cancer. The film was big hit.
He had also settled “Nargis Dutt foundation” in memory of his wife for the treatment of cancer patients.
His last popular films were Watan Ke Rakhwale(1987), Virodhi(1992), Kshatriya(1993), Parampara(1993) and Munna Bhai MBBS(2003).
