He is the bigger son of Mr. Salim Khan, a prolific author, and his wife Salma Khan. Earlier actress of the Bollywood Helen is Salman’s stepmother. Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Arpita and Alvira are siblings of Salman Khan. Director or Actor Atul Agnihotri is the brother–in–law of Salman Khan and married with Alvira. Khan has completed his study from St. Stanislaus High School in the Mumbai.

Salman Khan started his bollywood career from the movie Biwi Ho To Aisi in year 1988 in that movie he performed a supporting part. He started his career as the main role in the family romantic drama movie of Sooraj Barjatva, Maine Pyar Kiya and for that movie he won Best Male Debut Filmare Award and was even selected for the Best Filmfare Actor Award.
